Blood Donation attracts local communities

The “18th Joint Blood Donation Program 2073” was conducted successfully attracting over 250 visitors that was held at Einstein Academy HSS & College (TU) premises, Mahalaxmi Chowk, Lalitpur-14, on Saturday, September 10, 2016.

It is an annual joint venture organised by Magar Samaj Sewa Kendra, Einstein Academy HSS & College (TU), Rotary Club of Mahabouddha, Lalitpur, and Thashikhel Yuwa Samaj as part of their social responsibility.

The program was chaired by Kabiraj Rai, Chief Executive Director of Einstein Academy, President of Rotary Club of Mahabouddha, Lalitpur and Chairman of Uma-Maheshor Community Health Center Tikhedewal, Lalitpur-14.

Despite incessant rain, around 100 aspirants donated their precious blood. The event was scheduled from 8:30am to 1pm. This was an encouraging response from the local communities, said the organisers.

Chief Guest Dr. Manita Rajkarnikar formally inaugurated the program by lighting the ‘panas’ in the presence of Chairperson Rai and other dignitaries. Dr. Rajkarnikar is a Director at Central Blood Transfusion Service Balkumari, Lalitpur.

Speaking at the inaugural function, Chief Guest Dr. Rajkarnikar encouraged all to donate the blood to save the life of the needy. Stressing over the women’s reluctance in donating blood, Dr. Rajkarnikar urged women friends to donate blood.

Highlighting the importance of blood donation at the present context, Chairperson of the function Rai thanked all those who participated in the blood donation program including the organisers, main sponsors, technical supporters, Red Cross Society, Community Police Service Center, and the local communities for their invaluable support.

Similarly, dignitaries from different walks of life including P.D.G Dilendra Raj Shrestha and SSP Pitamber Adhikari as Special Guests, Einstein Academy’s Principal KP Gurung, Chairman of Magar Samaj Man Bahadur Buda Magar, Thasikhel Yuwa Samaj’s Chairman Sundar Khatri, among others also attended the event.

Chief Guest Dr. Rajkarnikar along with Chairperson Rai and special guests distributed the letter of appreciations and certificates to the donors, sponsors and volunteers for their contribution to make the event successful.
